Lyewood
This large area of land to the south and east of the Lyewood housing development has been designated a Biodiversity Net Gain project. Work includes development of a species rich grassland area, a chestnut coppice, a small wetland area and native woodland planting.
Management of the grassland area will be achieved through light grazing of rare breed sheep while it is expected the coppice area will be harvested in the usual way, every 10 – 12 years.
